Dr. Shabnam Ashtiani is the owner and treating chiropractor at Essence Chiropractic & Wellness located in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Ashtiani enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on the Spurs, traveling and practicing yoga. Advancement of the profession is a focus of hers and she is currently a member of the Texas Chiropractic Association (TCA), SAYP, UTSA Alumni Association, and The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). Special Interests include myofascial release therapy (Graston Therapy), pregnancy, pediatric, and acupuncture. Professional Accreditation includes Graston Provider, Acupuncture Board Certified, Fascial Movement Taping levels 1 & 2 (RockTape), Activator Technique, Webster Technique, Tongue & Lip Tie, and 200 hours of training from the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics.
Dr. Ashtiani graduated from Winston Churchill H.S. After completing her undergraduate studies in Biology, she continued her graduate studies in Health Promotion at the University of Texas at San Antonio, while doing an internship at the Wellness Coalition of San Antonio at the Health & Science Center. Dr. Ashtiani continued her academics to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas. Dr. Ashtiani completed her internships at Moody Health Center, Gulf Coast Brain & Spine, The Spine, and Sports Center, Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, the University of Houston at Clear Lake and Rice University. She completed her preceptorship program at Healthpro Chiropractic & Acupuncture and Integrative Spine and Sports Chiropractic.
Courtney is the Chiropractic Assistant at Essence Chiropractic & Wellness.
Courtney graduated from Churchill H.S. in 2014. Courtney earned her certification to be a medical assistant from The College of Health Care professions in 2019. In her spare time, Courtney serves local San Antonio families as a nanny for their children. Her interests include: food, dogs, and family.
